Deep Political Engagement in Korle Klottey
A committed member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie’s political journey has been deeply rooted in the Klottey Korle Constituency. He rose from being a youth activist in Tudu to a Parliamentary Candidate Aspirant in 2007. He served as a core campaign team member in 2016 and played a strategic role as Finance Lead during the 2020 elections. From 2018 to the present, he has served as a Constituency Executive Member and was a Vice Chairman Aspirant in 2022—demonstrating unwavering dedication to constituency development and political cohesion.
Proven Experience in Local Government Administration
Between 2010 and 2017, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie served as a Government Appointee to the Ga South Municipal Assembly. He was a member of the Executive Committee and held important portfolios including Chair of the Revenue Sub-Committee and membership in the Finance & Administration and Justice & Security Committees. This experience offered him vital insight into municipal operations, policy execution, and inter-departmental coordination—insights he now brings to the leadership of KoKMA.
Academic Excellence and Technical Versatility
Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie holds a BSc (Hons) in Finance and Banking and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also completed diploma courses in Applied Computer Science and Electronics through the International Correspondence Schools (Centre for Degree Studies). These qualifications reflect his strong command of both finance and modern technologies—key competencies for strategic leadership in today’s governance landscape.
Rooted in the Community Empowerment
Born in Osu to a Ga mother and a Fante father, and raised in Tudu, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie’s early life and education were rooted in the heart of the Korle Klottey Municipality. He began his education at Fathia Nkrumah Nursery in Osu, then proceeded to Liberty Avenue Primary, Castle Road Methodist Primary, and Ernest Bruce Methodist Middle School in Adabraka.
He received his secondary education at Ghanata Secondary School, where he completed his “O”-Level Education, and at Mawuli Secondary School for his “A”-Level Education. This background gives him a lived understanding of the people, history, and pulse of the community.
Extensive Professional Background in Telecoms and ICT
Professionally, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie has held key roles in Ghana’s telecommunications sector. His experience spans internet and data services, fibre cable deployment, telecommunications infrastructure, and anti-fraud systems. Technically skilled, he has designed and installed local and wide area networks, VSAT systems, and telecommunications switches, while also managing safe installations of power equipment and ICT systems. His managerial strengths include financial planning, budgeting, business development, and human resource coordination.
National and Regional Leadership Roles
Beyond municipal and professional responsibilities, Hon. Allotey-Gaisie has contributed to national development through roles on several high-level committees and task forces. These include the Ghana Submarine Cable and Pipeline Working Group, Telecoms Tower Lease Reorganisation Project Committee, and the National Engineering Coordinating Team (NECT), where he chaired the Training and Education Committee. He has chaired an ECOWAS meeting of ICT experts in Niamey, Niger, and supported ICT regulation and licensing missions in The Gambia.
